Franklin County Humane Society takes in animals every day of the year. Cats, dogs, rabbits... One time, over 65 animals were taken in during a five hour time frame. Many people would think this was wonderful, but the truth is all the shelter did that day was euthanize animals. Why? The small building has only one tiny adoption room for cats, two small adoption rooms for dogs, and three even smaller isolation rooms. There was no space for all the animals they took in. What's worse is the dog kennels are old and rusty and hard to open - visiters can hardly see the dogs through the thick caging. Most of the animals there are too big for their cages. All of this is because the shelter is run from donations only, and Franklin Country is not associated with the Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO).

You CAN Make A Difference
Please help. These animals depend on humans to survive. Come out and adopt a dog or cat. Or send in some money. The smallest amount can go a long way. Your donations buy food, medical treatment, building repairs, and more. You can also send in towels, newspapers, dog or cat toys, etc. The staff and volunteers appreciate every little donation, and I know the animals do too.
